You've probably wondered more than once whether your brand would do better if you carried out an action with influencers, or are they called content creators? Are they the same thing? “Well, it doesn't matter, in any case... Will I sell more? Will more people know me? Is anyone good enough for me?” The answer to these questions depends on many factors. If you want to know which ones, keep reading!
But before we start, let's look at the difference between the different types of influencers and where Content Creators fit in. And no, we're sorry, but the RAE hasn't given its approval yet. Time will tell.
So… What is the bulk sms marketing difference between an influencer and a content creator?
Don't worry, there is always that doubt, but after having worked with many of them, we have come to this conclusion:
Influencers do not provide added value to their followers beyond trying to sell, both their image and that of the brands that want to work with them. Content creators provide value, they add to their followers “for the love of art” and, when a brand works with them, they add value to the content they create.
Below we detail in more detail what stands out about each one, in case there are any doubts:
Spoiler alert : An influencer can be a content creator and vice versa!
They are charismatic people, they have the ability to quickly connect with their audience.
When they talk, they create a bond, as they shape a clear yet powerful message.
They understand their audiences and this allows them to persuade them through recommendations of products, services and brands.
They usually strive to maintain an aesthetically pleasing feed that is aligned with their lifestyle; they often accept collaborations with brands that align with their profiles.
There are many categories of influencers: Beauty and Fashion, Lifestyle, Health and Fitness, Foodies, Entertainment and Humor, and many more.
They usually have a large number of followers, although they have been adapting to the needs of the market.
Their business model is based on collaborations with brands in exchange for money or some exchange of the product.
Content Creators
They are creatives who are dedicated to producing relevant content on a specific topic.
They don't just speak into a camera, but through creative videos, art, photography, music, lyrics and more.
They connect with their audience, their communities are created from the content they offer them.
Their creative minds go beyond following trends, they create them and are more daring when it comes to experimenting with new formats or ideas.
They are usually professionals in the topics they cover. If they are not, they are professionals in the production of social content.
They don't always have large audiences, but with their creativity they easily manage to go viral.
It is a booming profile that requires financial compensation and/or receipt of product for the production of content.
How do I know which one best suits my social media strategy?
Depending on what you're looking for, a strategy with content creators or one with influencers will be more beneficial to you. And one with both can be the bomb!
A campaign with influencers will help you:
Reach a larger number of users
Reach your niche in a much simpler way
Growing followers
A campaign with content creators will help you:
Get quality content available to use whenever you want (or until the contract indicates)
Use this content for other media (again, the contract rules)
The content you receive is aligned with your brand strategy
They are trained to generate more versatile content in line with what you need.
How will you know you've chosen the right one?
Measure, measure and… oh yes! MEASURE. Compare the objectives you wanted to achieve with an action with these profiles with the results obtained. In addition, you can compare their performance with the rest of the publications you make on a daily basis. And, above all, learn from your mistakes and keep the lessons learned.
